This site can be dedicated to various landmarks of Poonawalla Stud Farms. However, for us, the focal point of all these achievements is our father, the late Soli A. Poonawalla – the fountainhead of our inspiration.

Half a century ago, when breeding in India was in its infancy, he had the vision to establish The Poona Stud Farm. In doing so, he inextricably linked his farm with the development of the Indian thoroughbred. His guiding principles continue to dictate the purpose and direction of the farms in the present day, as a result of which, Poonawalla Stud Farms and the Indian thoroughbred stepped into the international arena.

Over the years, Poonawalla Stud Farms have broken records, rewritten racing history, initiated and continue to sponsor the richest juvenile race in the country, the Group 1 Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million and have consistently raised the standard of the Indian thoroughbred.

Ours is a labour of love for this majestic creature and from this, stems our dedication and unceasing efforts to breed champions. As King Richard III said, "A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse".
